Cardboard Castle

This is a project I completed for my Environment Modeling Class based off of a cardboard castle I had as a kid. I tried to make every piece of the environment as personal as possible, trying not to deviate from my childhood as much as possible.

I created the wood floor and butterfly carpet textures in Substance Designer and will also be posting an in depth breakdown of the wood texture. The most challenging part of this project was definitely the butterfly carpet. The edges were impossible to keep from warping. When it comes down to it, making the carpet out of fiber mesh in ZBrush would probably have saved me a lot of time and effort- but I still enjoyed learning Substance Designer from this.

[The cardboard texture was exported from Substance Designer as one of their pre-fabricated materials and imported into Substance Painter.]
